Extra support and early help
Parent guide
Early help means starting support while the child is still small, not waiting until Class 1 is already very hard. Special education means teaching in the way this child learns.
What does “early help” mean?
Early intervention (early help) means starting support in the first years of life, when learning new habits is easier. Waiting until school fails costs time and confidence.
A good plan names small skills: asking for water, sitting for a short story, toilet steps, not only a long medical name.
What extra support can include
Talking help, daily-skill help, hearing checks, and extra learning support are common. No clinic can promise a school seat or a government certificate. They can practise the skills those places need.
Questions we hear in clinic
Is it too late if my child is already 8?
No. Earlier is easier. Later is still useful.
Will therapy make my child dependent?
Good therapy aims at more independence at home, not endless clinic time with no home plan.

- Help at home: Clinic time is short. Home is where skills stick.
- Extra learning support: Extra learning support means small steps and pictures, not a warehouse away from family.
